Invent at Milereach

If you can say this in one plain sentence, you understand the day: A four-legged robot can now go a whole marathon on one battery charge because it wastes much less energy with every step. That means walking robots can finally travel far enough for long jobs, far from any charger.

Milereach is a spread-out hill community. The trails are long and steep, some have steps, and there is one charger, at the pump house. Ines walks the eleven-kilometre reservoir line twice a week. Last month a split pipe near the far huts ran for four days before anyone saw it.

Invent a way Milereach's long routes get covered, so the far huts, the fences, and the water line stop waiting on a few people's legs. Leave the design open.

Illustrated map of Milereach: farms, a reservoir, a rope bridge, long dashed trails, few chargers, and a question mark reading What would you build?
Milereach: long trails, few chargers. What would you build? Leave the design open. No brand.

Think about who steers or watches over it, what gets carried and what that costs in range, where the charging happens, and what happens when the weather turns.

Do not invent a copy of one lab's robot as the answer. Do not assume it finds its own way, runs forever, or needs no people.
